Airport/Flight Questions

Airport/Flight Questions

i don't really know why i'm asking this here but i thought i'd give it a try. in august i'm going to be visiting a friend in the states and this is my frist time flying anywhere alone...i'm terrified. so i have a few questions.

1. i'm in the process of trying to find the cheapest flight possible does anyone know any good sites or airlines that offer this?

2. is it hard getting around in airports? last time i was in one all i had to do was follow a group of like...20 people (i was going to Italy with my school) so i didn't really pay all that much attention. but now that i'm going to be all alone i want as little stress as possible.

if anyone has any good advice or any help to offer i'd really appreciate it. i really want to go on this trip but really the only thing holding me back is if its really stressful and hard to get around. i'm terrified.

thanks in advance

It's not that hard to get

It's not that hard to get around, I mean there are signs posted everywhere and the gates/terminal things are numbered in order, so if you kno the general area your going in, it won't be too hard. if if worse comes to worse, just ask somebody that works there

I've only been on flights within Canada, so I don't know anything about flying to the states however.

    theres a sight called last

theres a sight called last minute club, and like also, cheapflights.ca
uhmm i know there are more except i dont remember them. my mom goes on them all the time to find cheap tickets for when we go on vacations..

The first time I flew by

The first time I flew by myself I was so scared, and worried I would get lost and everything. But once you get there its easy to find your way around, when you land just stick with the big mob of people coming off your plane to fine your luggage (thats the most confussing part I find)

Okay, I was just searching on

Okay, I was just searching on the Last Minute Club website, and stuff is REALLY cheap. Like, Nassau all inclusive for like $900...
    WHATS THE CATCH?! Haha!
    Has anyone used this site?!

I cant tell you anything I

I cant tell you anything I have travelled lots on planes but I have always with parents.

    i have flown to calgary

i have flown to calgary alone- and then back home from hawaii alone.
its not that bad- there are signs everywhere.
where in the states are you going? cuz some airports are a tad confusing- but mostly just really busy- and im sure you can find someone who works there to help you if you need it.
most say the worst part is customs- but just smile and relax cuz then they wont really give you a hard time. and know how much you can bring back and what you spent. i've always been in and out right away.
but most of all have fun.
    i love travelling

yeahh, and adding on to this, pick out someone that you see on your plane, and follow them to the luggage, even make conversation with the person next to you and follow them.

I had only flown a couple

I had only flown a couple times prior to last year, but times with people. But last year I flew to Ontario to visit my boyfriend 3 times by myself...and I`m pretty much the WORST at directions and I get lost super easy. Just follow the signs and you should be fine...if all else fails just ask someone.

www.flightcentre.ca sometimes has cheap ish flights but I think it depends on where you`re flying to and from.

Ah thank you guys SOO much.

Ah thank you guys SOO much. it makes me feel abit better that its not all that hard to get around in airports. Its just so expensive! every flight! holy! lol.

I'm going to Albany New York. should be a good time!

    another question though....

There are no direct flights to Albany New York...so i have to go from Winnipeg to Chicago, Chicago to New york...so when i'm in Chicago will i have to find my baggage and then put it on a different plane to new york or will that get done for me automatically?

    If it's a connecting flight,

If it's a connecting flight, they'll just move it from one plane to the other. At least, they're supposed to. haha.

there is somethinig SO SAFE about what seems like everybody seems to hate.

if your going to o'hare have fun. be prepared for a flight delay as it is one of the busiest airports in the sates- i believe one plane come and goes every 7 secs. all of my flights through there have been late. (3 or 4 times ive been to)
and they take care of ur luggage- i havent had a problem there yet lol.
great place to people watch during layovers.
and i find it was a pretty nice airport, a lot better than winnipegs lol

I flew by myself for the first time a couple months ago, to San Francisco. On the way there i had a 2 hour layover in Chicago and on the way home, in Arizona. It's not hard at all, airports are some of the only places that are almost impossible to get lost in.
