uni registration Q?
so finally it has a time for me to register for classes in the fall- i still dont know if i got into the faculty or not but it says this:
You have Holds which will prevent registration.
Your Academic Standing is Faculty Minimum Met which permits registration.
Your Student Status permits registration.
but is it talking about the faculty of architecture? or just U1(first year) again?
if anyone understands it cuz i sure dont

i don't see how this forum could be much help answering you. lol why don't you try asking someone from your school..?
first of all...may i just say that the university is stupid for giving me a regestration date of July 31st at 8:30am. I wanted it to be sooner. my classes better not fill up. my schedual would be screwed if that happened. i have a back up one but its not as good as the one i have now.
ANYWAY
Did you apply to the faculty of architecture? cause if you did...shouldn't you have gotten an acceptance letter? if you didn't get accepted then i'm guessing your still a university one student and if you have more than 24 credit hours you can stay in univeristy one or transfer to the faculty of arts or science. if you have 30 or more you HAVE to transfer to another faculty....

I know when registering I get a lot of holds, and sometimes they're not even correct. I'd call someone at the registrars office at your school. Sometimes they'll tell you what this is all about, and how to fix it...

my start date is this friday, and i have no idea what classes to pick =/ i wish we got to choose in like august, so i could actually think about what kinda courses to take lolol.

i got july 28 at 830.
i did apply but i dont know if i got in yet. no letter or anything. i know others who applied for arch and they havent heard either. i know they had to wait for summer session to be over cuz of the way they got requirements which is new.
and i got 30- but i dont want to go to arts or science so wouldnt that be pointless? i really dont want to call them but its so dang confusing.

Thats weird you haven't gotten an acceptance letter yet regardless of if you got in or not. maybe you'll be getting it in the next few days? i know one of my friends applied to the faculty of nursing and she got her acceptance letter near the end of june. I think you should consider calling the admissions office. the number is (204)474-8808 they should be able to help you out and if they can't they'll probably direct you to someone else who can help you out.
have you made up a schedule yet?
and if you don't get into the faculty of architechture i think you'll have to go into the faculty of arts or science becuase you can't stay in university 1. Arts would make more sense to go into than science though.
ya i made a schedule.
and some of the classes are only available at one time- so hopefully they dont fill up if i need plan B. and gah. ill have to talk with someone in a couple days. its just so far away and a pain to get to that i dont want to.
still watching for mail though. i hate waiting.

i know what you mean about the whole certain classes are only available one time thing. its pissing me off....most of my courses were like that...so i just re did everything and decided to take different courses. haha.
And i don't think you'd actually have to go to the university to figure things out...you can just call.
Its still really weird that you didn't get a letter at all....even if you weren't accepted (which i'm sure you were)
haha really its touch and go cuz so many people wanted in, i think 250 and they only take 120ish and my marks were not high. still waiting. and getting annoyed. i've decided to wait til monday and if not heard anything then call i guesss

i know how that feels. i want to get into social work next year [cause i just changed my mind and decided this a month before the year ended] and apparently they get like...300 applications and they only accept 75 and 25 of those people are from minorities..so really they only accept like 50 and my marks were NOT high at all. i better get them up this year or i'm even more screwed. i hate how they make everything so damn hard! ugh. its so frustrating. anyway let me know what all happens.

i called them today- and they said that the faculity people had a meeting on friday which is when they decided who got in and i should know by the end of the week. talk about last minute

haha. wow. that is VERY last minute. i'd be so pissed. lol
but it is almost the end of the weeks so i'm sure you'll find out soon. very very soon...tomorrow perhaps?
my friends have heard- one was missing something and didnt, one did, dont know about the other, and im still waiting.
and some other girl i went to middle school got in too. dang why am i always the last to know lol
