Hey - did you get your hands on their cd yet? What State are you in anyway?
The interviews I've seen lately have talked about them touring overseas towards the end of next year- that the US is too hard to crack. But I also recall reading that they were going to put together a cd for US release that would be kind of a greatest hits from both of their albums.
lol, call me a douchebag, but I honestly hope they don't.
I hope you realize that with Hedley making their way over to the US for the 2nd time brings many new fans and tons of new possibilies for the band that they might not be able to achieve up here in Canada.
We, as fans, need to think about what's best for the band - I mean, we ARE here as their support group, right?
We have to remember that they're just venturing onto "new grounds" just like they did before they became what they are today in Canada.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that we need to be supportive and not get upset when something's mentioned about Hedley heading to the US. It's going to happen sooner or later ..

I know. And I know that you're right. And I'm not saying that I won't be happy if they gain even more success, because these boys are my favourite band and nothing would make me happier than to see them happier. But at the same time, I'm hella selfish and don't want to share them with anyone else. Hell, I think they've got too many fans already. Tickets for a Toronto show went on sale at 10 this morning, and ticketmaster apparently has a stick up its ass and won't accept mastercard, which is the only card I have. It took me until about 2:45 in the afternoon to find a friend who could get the tix for me, and the only tickets left were the ones at the very last row in the venue. They practically sold out a show in 5 hours, pretty much. I'm disgruntled, to say the least.
I'm digressing, but you understand what I'm trying to say, I hope. I love them so I want them to stay my little secret and live in my pocket for the rest of their careers. But we all know that's not going to happen.
Awww you know what? .. I'd love to see them back down here (they left a good sized chunk of Canada's secret behind, a couple of years ago, just sayin'), but I DO understand why you want to keep them to yourselves, because I've felt that way about bands in the past.
The US *is* a tough market for sure. I've lived here for 8 years now and it still doesn't come easy to me to find new music (I'm from the UK where Hedley could potentially be up against the Teletubbies, Kate Nash, Jamie T, Amy Winehouse, Madonna, Chris Brown, Elvis, and Nickelback, all in one chart .. get the idea?)
I've been fortunate in that I've been able to follow Hedley on the forums for a couple of years or more, and I've see the guys down here in Vegas with Yellowcard, AND up in Edmonton at Campus Chaos.
I've yet to see a Hedley headlining show (and I *really* hope I will, even if I need to travel north again!) but at the end of the day, I'd love to see them become HUGE .. everywhere .. because they work so damned hard to achieve just that!!
Whether you know of hedley., Jake on Idol, Hedley, or whoever; if you *really* take an objective view, it doesn't matter at all .. the enthusiasm is still there, and what Steve said is spot on. It's about supporting them .. and what the fans can give back to a great bunch of musicians/guys.
To the person who posted originally, I bought 'Famous Last Words' from the link on this site (at a pretty reasonable price for an import too!), and if there is ever a US version, I'll no doubt buy that as well.
My interest in Hedley is relatively recent...and I too totally understand wanting to keep them to yourself...I think it's a totally natural reaction...but the music scene here in the states right now is, imho, pretty dismal...we need some new blood and Hedley would provide that...I've yet to see a show and am totally dependent on the smart bitch above for my *fix*....
