Promoting...
so, im thinking of proomoting hedley in another countr this summer, and im fresh out of ideas of how i wol be able to promote them. I want to do something that wouldnt cost a whole lot of money,but to look proper and stand out as well...any ideas?

Do you have posters from the street team or something?
Whatever you do, make sure you check out the legalities - it wouldn't be a good thing if you accidentally did something illegal, and it could potentially give the band a 'bad name' or whatever.
An easy way to make it stand out is to find announcement boards and put posters on there, and maybe even put say four on it. two on top, two right underneath, like a little block. It stands out, and it shows that that space is like 'your space.'
Or, if you're in a store/business that has flyers up, maybe ask if you could put one up also.
Another thing I've done is just hung out in something like 'town square', and hand out stickers/printed of flyers with website information on them to people passing by who you think look like they'd be interested in something like what you're promoting.

Hey hedley-rox most promotional items comes straight from Universal. If you're interested in helping promote Hedley in your area speak to your provinces Team leader and he/she will be able to give you more information on exactly what we do for promotional items and the likes.
Like Jessica said there's alot of legality involved in just postering random places, you're not allowed to poster in chain music stores HMV, Walmart, CD Plus, etc.. You're not allowed to hand out any free items at a concert without explict permission from the promoters/venue and we just don't bother with that so we hand things out AFTER The show outside the venue.
It's best to wait until a show has been announced in your area and the street team leader in your area will send you posters, stickers, buttons etc.. to distribute

well if you're handing out little flyers, it's always good to have their music playing, or have your ipod ready to share with anyone who sounds interested
